All about private health insurance
Private health insurance - also sometimes called private medical insurance or private health cover - gives you access to private treatment when you need it, often in the hospital of your choice.
Private health insurance is designed to pay for the treatment of acute illnesses and injuries - in other words, conditions that are likely to respond quickly to treatment.
Choosing a policy
You can choose a private health insurance plan to suit your budget - the more you invest, the more treatments your policy is likely to cover and pay for.
- Comprehensive private medical insurance plans, such as AXA PPP healthcare's Ideal and Ideal 6, cover a wide range of in-patient and out-patient treatment, except for accidents and emergencies.
- Lower-premium private health insurance such as AXA PPP healthcare's Assure and Assure 6 policies, don't cover out-patient treatments like physiotherapy.
